1. You worry about what other people think
We are constantly living in a state of mind where we care what other people think about us. And it’s time for you to take charge of your life and not let others determine what should or shouldn’t make you happy. The more you experience things that make you happy then you’ll find out you were worried over nothing. Because no one cares about your dreams as much as you do. So do what makes you happy.
2. You tell yourself “One Day”
You tell yourself, “One day I’ll get there” and then you spend every day dreaming for that time to come. Each day is wasted thinking about the “one day,” make every day your “one day” and find victories (whether they be small or large) that make you happy.
Every morning you can wake up and decide if you’re going to do something that makes you happy. It may not be anything big but just being able to acknowledge small moments that spark joy will make your day will then make your life a whole lot brighter.
3. You think there’s only one option
It’s a common habit for many people to think that only one thing can bring you happiness forever. Life is about balance, and many things will make you happy. The best solution is to find a lot of things that make you happy and try to fill those things in throughout your day. No matter how big or small, try to find just one thing a day that brings you happiness, or something you can look forward to and build from there.
Don’t let yourself feel stuck every day imagining that one day there will bring you something that will bring you forever happiness. Make yourself happy every single day.
4. You limit yourself
Push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Always learning or trying something new can bring excitement and interest in your life. It’s not about the success of reaching the goal it’s about feeling happy about the journey it takes to get there. Enjoy the process because most likely that’s what you’ll remember and learn from the most.
5. You think you’re too busy
Everyone is busy whether it’s raising kids, working, housework, etc. there will always be excuses that can get in your way. But if you spend your life thinking about what you have to do rather than what you want to do and what brings you joy, then you won’t live a very fulfilling life. When you make the things you love to do a priority, then you make sure to get it done. Don’t keep scraping through each day in a “survival mode” mindset. Your life will become much brighter when you put the things you love in your “to-do” list.
Only you can create the life you want. You get the opportunity to decide to fill your life with things that constantly make you happy or to keep putting them off. Think of all the greats who have accomplished what they set out to do. You can follow the same path, as long as you include joy into it. Ask yourself, “What’s one thing that you can to do today that would make you happy?” Whether it’s big or small just take a few minutes to build a habit of putting happiness into your everyday life.
